LUNA :
Luna is a 22 year old brunette. Her Latino beauty is hidden beneath second hand over-sized jackets, 70's Tshirts and old sneakers. She plays folk guitar and likes traditional South-American music. She’s much better at serving food than cooking it, Luna is a waitress at Jerzy K’s, a 24-hour restaurant. Luna’s special ability is to SEE INTO THE FUTURE. Her premonitions usually occur when she’s emotionally stressed or in deep concentration. Her special vision draws out the Mother in Luna, she’s protective and very affectionate. Luna is very close to Martin, a closeness that is resurfacing from a past, now hidden, love affair. Yet more complicated, Luna is perfectly aware of the feelings Philip has for her, she keeps a distance but remains kind and affectionate. She’s very scared of entering the Delta Phase and will always try to find some reason to avoid going there.
Martin is 21 years old. He is tall and athletic. He's a fan of English punk fashion, even though he’s way too young to have lived through it. Martin is a huge music fan and works at "Soundz", one of the best record shops in town. Martin is very bright and composed. He has an everlasting cynical sense of humour. A nice kid who sometimes hides behind exaggerated self-confidence. His role as natural leader of the group sometimes takes on a slightly paternalistic tone. Martin has MIND READING powers so he always knows the right thing to say to win people over. Martin has a peculiar relationship with Brodie, by subconsciously reproducing the one he had with his own father. This can make him rebellious to Brodie’s orders, leading the group into big trouble.
Claire is a 21 year-old, hyperactive English girl; living life to the full, day and night, 24/7. Luckily she has the perfect job: Claire is a DJ in a hip club, mixing Jungle and Breakbeat until dawn. She has difficulty in trusting others and doesn't talk much, she is very impulsive and prone to mood swings. In a word Claire is complex. Claire’s gift is her ability to SEE FROM A DISTANCE. Given an exact location, her mind can travel, viewing events in faraway locations… in realtime. When in the Delta Phase she can pass through doors or walls, a remote voyeur of those who think they’re alone. From Claire’s viewpoint, everyone is a hypocrite! Since moving in with the rest of the team, Claire and Martin have fallen in love. But their love is threatened by Luna's presence. Claire is deeply jealous of Luna, without really understanding why. Is love’s memory lost?
Philip is a clumsy-looking… yet charming 20 year-old. He likes utility clothing, jean-jackets, T-shirts withslogans and charity shop trousers. His music taste an eclectic mix of 60's Soft Pop, like Burt Bacharach, with an Easy or Trip-Hop contemporary mix. Philip flits from job to job (secretarial, tele-sales, receptionist…) but loves being a delivery boy. Unfortuately he’s a total day-dreamer, which often gets him fired. Philip’s unique ability is to interpret the ‘sensory stigmas’ left on objects and thus GO BACK IN TIME to uncover what happened to those objects, or their owners. A sensitive and tactile power, requiring a careful hand, for "Each thing has it's own story". As the group's lucky charm, Philip is the kind of boy that girls love to take care of… except for Luna, who seems unaffected by his love for her. And then there’s Maria, a Rifter. Will these affairs now perhaps passed, make him the most reliable team player in the future ?
Professor Robert Brodie is a small and unassuming man, with greying hair and a slight paunch deserving of his fifty or so years. He is English, and generally wears dark glasses with elegant yet casual suits. Brodie is a nostalgic fan of the ‘Swinging Sixties’, rock music reminiscent of his childhood in England. It's one of the few subjects that will get him talking because Professor Brodie generally speaks very little. This trait is only normal: for Professor Brodie was once a Rifter! Switching his allegiance to join the fight against Humanity’s biggest enemy, Brodie now lives with our four heroes. As their mentor and friend, he represents a reassuring father figure guiding each of them through a life without a full memory (a memory loss Brodie is partly responsible for). He disguises his guilt and despair behind a warm and agreeable façade. However, Brodie’s strength is fading and the clock is ticking… one day our heroes and his friends will be forced to
SVEN:
Sven and Maria are two of the most powerful Rifters. Sven is the ultimate enemy, the archetypal ‘big bad guy’. Nothing can stop him in his mission: to destroy Brodie. His physical appearance is in keeping with his character; tall, muscular, with dark long hair, dressed in black leather. This darkness, a reflection of his power, is weakened only by his stubbornness, sometimes confining him to his own narrow-minded stupidity.
MARIA:
Maria is a young, determined and very attractive looking Rifter. She will always think for two and choose the best way to do things with nuance and gentleness, there-by compensating for Sven’s total lack of subtlety. Maria’s growing sensitivity for the human body and spirit that she often inhabits, proves to be her downfall. She becomes fascinated by her growing feelings for Philip, finally and fatally she falls in love with him.
